Feeling Whimsical!
Thanks for the good wishes for my friend. We are still waiting to hear how the surgery went. In the meantime, I want to play make believe.

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often or ever) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me.

It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph in your LJ and see what your friends come up with.

Remember that one time we were on the Island, and it was really hot, and we talked Daniel into constructing a device to efficiently crack open coconuts for us? It was fun, but I got a bit of a sunburn. Good times, man.

But then Richard came over and put aloe on your burn and you felt much better. I was a little jealous. Best day ever!

Oh, geez, that day it was so freaking hot - remember? It was March, March, dammit, and of course we weren't dressed for summer weather, but that didn't stop the temperature from getting up in the 90's! What I've lost track of now is why we didn't just go to my place (or yours) and change into shorts, I just know we drank way too much beer trying to cool off. And then when we saw that fountain, neither one of us hesitated, and the water felt great! Just about everyone who walked by joined us. I can still see that poor cop, trying to make us all get out when what he wanted to do was hop in the water himself. Hee!

Of course I remember, after all we were the first scientists to identify global warming. Well, I mean I did. You kind of just rode my coat tails all the way to the Nobel prize. But then again, you did solve world peace all on your own, I have to give you that.

Hey, remember that time when I came to Toronto and we got together? I had to practically force you to go to a baseball game, but once you got a couple of drinks under your belt (the beer guy was addressing you by name by the end) you were yelling a the players louder then some of the guys around us. Damn, I wish my camera had the video option back then. ;)

Baseball is so much more fun when drunk!

But I was not as loud that day as you were when we were on our road trip and we stopped at that roadhouse. You were whooping it up on the dance floor and then you rode the mechanical bull! The best part was that cute cowboy who looked like Naveen who kept hitting on you. Too bad you lost his number!

I'm so sorry I missed your post about your friend, I haven't really been feeling up to lj lately. I swear the internet has burned me out.

Now for the memory...

Remember the time you got drunk in Vegas and danced on one of the tables at the Flamingo and it took me, the pit boss and several college boys with backward baseball hats and flip flops to get you down from there--I think it was when they were waving the dollar bills..all you kept saying was something about how you didn't have to eat at the buffet. :)

I could have sworn that was you and not me!

You mean like the time we were in Austria and found those stairs from that one part of the Sound of Music, and started singing the do-re-mi song, and then instead of having it be really embarrassing, everyone around us joined in?
elliotsmelliot: Flower redelliotsmelliot on December 11th, 2009 01:12 pm (UTC)
And no one minded that I sang off key!

Remember when we met on the beach in Montauk? It was freezing cold, February, Valentines Day. You couldn't miss me with my bright orange hoodie and blue hair. Blue Ruin, like the line in the Tom Waits monologue. You said I looked familiar.

Hope your friend is okay. *hugs* Did you get to Toronto?

Was that before or after I glomped you at your book signing in Prague? It's amazing how many languages your novel was translated into. Those Czechs just love you!

Despite the storm, I did get to Toronto. It was a super quick visit but still fun.

How about that time when when you were visiting that reenactment and we got you dressed up in my extra 18th century clothes? Once he caught up to you, your poor husband didn't even recognize you at first--people pointed you out and he walked over and asked if you had seen his wife and only realized what had happened when you fell over laughing!
elliotsmelliot: purple flowerelliotsmelliot on December 12th, 2009 02:02 pm (UTC)
That's funny. Both Mr. E.S. and I once dressed up in 18th centruy costumes for a short film we made for a CEGEP class where we revisited the TV show Cheers during the Boston Tea Party. I guess that would count as AU fic!

sedaunysedauny on December 12th, 2009 10:59 pm (UTC)
Cheers meets the Boston Tea Party? Did Samuel Adams sponsor that film?

Hee!

Remember that time, that we visited the lollipop store in Karmaville and we helped Mr. Straps make rainbow bubbled lollipops? He was such a kind man! You fell into his sugar pot and we couldn't stop laughing after you drugged me inside, as well! The flying blue goldfish had to lift us up to get us out. Mr. Straps gave us loads of bags of bonbons for our way to the next city (or the rest of our lives, for that matter). We could barely squeeze it in Maya (our square shaped flying balloon, remember? she was such a good girl!).. I still believe we should have got rid of those giant snowflakes that kid gave us in our previous stop. I mean seriously. Yes, the kid was really sweet, but we needed the space, dude. And you looked so innocent in your purple piggy tails that I just couldn't say no. Once you fix Maya, tell me! I got a feather from Jen, she wants to come along, especially if we stop by Dreamville.

(You don't know me, I don't know you! But I just came across your lovely suggestion -after a boring evening in which I decided to do fanfic reading and found you through comments of comments! lol (I have minimum LJ experience of use, so sorry)- and I felt really drawn to it! I had to reply! So, nice to meet you! :D PS: I hope your friend is doing well! *-* )

It's nice to meet you too! Man, that was a crazy day in Karmaville.

So I was wondering if you remembered the time we went to Paris together. I thought it was adorable how you started off telling me how you were afraid of heights and didn't want to go inside the Eiffel Tower...but changed your mind the minute you saw how beautiful it was. Afterward, we ate lunch at that local bakery--what was it called?--and you insisted that we buy true Parisian croissants. And, if I remember correctly, you bought me this stylish silver shirt at a boutique, while I bought you this adorable ear ring set. We had a really great time. <3
